New Orleans, LA -- (ReleaseWire) -- 06/11/2018 -- Allison Williams and Devin Kennedy, both longtime residents of Louisiana, have been dreaming of a wedding for years. However, before they had the chance to turn their dreams into a reality, they fell victim to the 2016 Louisiana flood. They lost everything in the flood, which meant that instead of saving for a wedding, they now had to come up with money to rebuild. Just as they were beginning to get back on their feet, Devin was in a serious car accident that left him injured and in need of recuperation.
At this point, Allison and Devin no longer believed that a wedding would be happening any time soon. However, several New Orleans wedding vendors (originally part of BeNolaWed group) caught wind of Allison and Devin's heart-wrenching story and decided to band together and give the couple the wedding of their dreams- for free! The wedding was held at the magnificent City Park in New Orleans on Sunday, May 27, 2018. The beautiful ceremony was officiated by Colleen Orfanello of Oltmann Weddings and makeup by Ashley Lopez. The lovely cakes were provided by Chez RuRene, a complimentary 2-night stay at the Grand Victorian Bed & Breakfast hosted by the owner of GVBB and even a complimentary private dinner was provided by the amazing staff of Tableau Restaurant in the French Quarter. Photography was captured by Ibay Photography - these are just some of the wonderful wedding vendors who came together for Allison and Devin's nuptials.
Their wedding day was extra special because it was held during New Orleans' Tricentennial Year celebrations. This 2018 marks 300 years since New Orleans was officially constructed. Allison and Devin couldn't have picked a more symbolic time to come together as one. They will remember this day for years to come- and so will the city of New Orleans.
